Thus you will need to enter an ifconfig command for the eth0 card containing your IP address and your netmask as provided by your ISP. For example:

  ifconfig eth0 <your-ip-address> netmask <your-netmask>
  

Please be sure to use only the address assigned to you by your ISP for your external interface. If you use someone else's address, you will most likely cause problems with the internet and possibly be cut off by your ISP :-(.

 

Adding routing

 
 

At this point, you will need to add a bit of routing information so that the operating system knows what IP addresses to sent through which card.
